NABC 2022 Opening Ceremony

The show is designed to offer a musical journey that highlights the identity and heritage of Bengal. A spectacular opulent colorful potpourri of all dance forms woven in with captivating music, that will be showcased in this gala ceremony.

Theme

The theme is based on a confluence of beautiful indigenous folk cultures from Bengal intertwined with classical dance forms from India, including western influences. The theme is based on the premise of the Gangetic plains of Bengal and its evolution – The fertile soil is closely connected to the culture and civilization of this ethnic group. The links between the soil and culture, civilization, and livelihood will be showcased through their interactions in this act. Many tributaries and rivers join Ganga in its journey, yet Ganga retains its own uniqueness. Similarly, the Gangetic plains of Bengal accepted cultures across the nation and the globe and took the best of all; as it emerged in its uniqueness, amalgamating, evolving, and creating a distinctive celebrated identity of its own.

This story thus will be demonstrated through the confluence of beautiful indigenous folk cultures from Bengal together with the intertwining of classical music and dance forms from other parts of India, western influences.
